MLC PROGRAM

키즈 원예

PRE-K
4-5 YR OLD

Korean age 5 and 6 Yrs Old

The MLC program introduces children to the basic skills of reading, writing, math, social studies, and science.  Using an interactive approach to phonics, students begin to learn to blend sounds and form language relationships to express words and sentences.  The use of learning centers and hands-on activities provides the students with a strong core.  All children are unique which is why MLC’s curriculum encourages individuality.  Also, children are encouraged to work and learn at their own pace at MLC.  It is essential to understand that a child may not be at the same place as peers.  Preschool children are developing social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and literary skills in preparation for kindergarten.

Korean age 7 Yr Old

The MLC program builds a solid foundation where children begin to think more abstractly and begin to process information without the need of concrete materials.  Therefore, materials are carefully selected to support comprehension and the development of skills rather than mechanical learning.  New concepts are discussed in small groups and applied in relevant hands-on activities.  Respect for the classroom environment and concern for one another is stressed at all times.  In addition to academic growth, we continue to value the emotional growth of each child. We incorporate a variety of tested and proven activities that address issues such as problem solving, expressing feelings, making compromises, and working cooperatively.  This aspect of our program prepares our children for an ever-changing world.  Our school does our best to keep our children at least one or two steps ahead.

1ST GRADE AND SCHOOL AGE

School age children begin to think more abstractly and begin to process information without the need of concrete materials.  Therefore, teaching aids are carefully selected to support comprehension and the development of skills rather than just mechanical learning.  New concepts are discussed in small groups and are applied in relevant activities.  Care of the classroom environment as well as care for one another is consistently stressed.  In addition to academic growth, we continue to value the emotional growth of each child.  We incorporate a variety of strong academic focused activities and discussions to address issues such as solving problems, expressing feelings, making compromises, and working cooperatively in preparation for our graduates to excel in overseas native English-speaking schools.
